Το Σάββατο 31 Ιανουαρίου 2009 έγινε η κοπή της πρωτοχρονιάτικης πίτας του Πολιτιστικού Ποντιακού Συλλόγου Λόφου. 
Με μεγάλη επιτυχία διοργανώθηκε το Σάββατο 31 Ιανουαρίου 2009, ο ετήσιος χορός του Συλλόγου Ποντίων Επταμύλων Ν. Σερρών "ΟΙ ΑΚΡΙΤΕΣ", στο οικογενειακό κέντρο «ΜΥΛΟΣ» στην Οινούσα Σερρών.

As such it attracts the highest political and public attention. What is largely ignored in the debate, however, is the fact that Armenians were not the only victims of the Young Turk's genocidal population policies. Οι καλλιεργημένοι με πατάτες και σιτάρι αγροί του κιμπούτς Νιρ Οζ γειτνιάζουν με τη Λωρίδα της Γάζας.
Είναι σχεδόν σουρεαλιστικό το πόσο κοντά υψώνονται οι πολυκατοικίες, οι υδρευτικές δεξαμενές και τα τζαμιά του παλαιστινιακού χωριού Αμπασάν.
Μετά την σφοδρή επίθεση του Ισραήλ στη Γάζα, οι Ισραηλινοί κάτοικοι του Νιρ Οζ δεν νιώθουν κανένα αίσθημα νίκης, αλλά έχουν την αίσθηση ότι κάτι έμεινε στη μέση.
Ο καλλιεργητής πατάτας Ελάντ Καζίρ οδηγεί ανάμεσα στα χωράφια με συνεχή φόβο και σταματάει μόνο πίσω από δέντρα ή θάμνους, ώστε να είναι καλυμμένος σε περίπτωση που γίνει στόχος ελεύθερων σκοπευτών.
Κάπου εκεί βρίσκεται και το μνημείο ενός Ισραηλινού στρατιώτη που έπεσε νεκρός σε ώρα περιπολίας, πριν από επτά χρόνια.

Πρόσφατα στον Πολύγυρο Χαλκιδικής παραδόθηκε από τη Ν.Α., στο Δήμο Πολυγύρου για χρήση, το νεόδμητο κτίριο του 3ου διθέσιου Νηπιαγωγείου Πολυγύρου.
Το έργο είχε ενταχθεί στο 3ο Κ.Π.Σ., έτος 2005, ΠΕΠ Κ.Μ. με φορέα υλοποίησης τη Ν.Α. Χαλκιδικής και αποπερατώθηκε το Δεκέμβριο του 2008.
